How did you do it?

ok well u pretty much seen me do this one.. we highlighted the cats proper eye with the circle lasso thing ( omg i forgot wat it was called ) then feathered it to 11 dpi n copied n pastedit.. then we moved that bad boy to the right side n rotated to tilt it so it looks proper. you gave me the tip of featering so it doesnt have the sharp hard lookn its not obvious that it was ..you know ..photoshopped . the friend woulda flipped. but yea thats pretty much how it was done =]

How did you do it?

okk well this one was a bit harder then the kitty one. what i did was i zoomed into the side of her face n used the lasso tool 2 get the portion i wanted. then i copied n pasted it n flipped it over. after i resized it i used the burn tool cus it kinda looked lighter then the rest of her face n there was like a line directly where i pasted it onto. after that i used the blur tool n fixed the line in her face then used the clone tool to restore the tear in the rest of the paper. i used the eyedropper tool to fix any obvious mistakes n things like that.

i think i did pretty good.. wat do u think miss ?

{February 7, 2008}   the movie thing

1) How did you enjoy the film? What stood out for you?

i loved this movi cus it was so sad. i liked that the kids actaully had hope of gettin the hell outta the brothels n gettin some hope for thier futures. wat stood out the most was the kids n thier different personalities. all the kids had thier own style of thinking in the movie n thier own techniques of taking the pictures that they did

2) Did you learn anything new about photography, life, people? What?

yeaaah . im noticing how the kids have this kind of pure talent n thier pictures are so.. amazing. what i mean is in the movie the kids were taking pictures from all angles n the most common things like the leaking roof dripping into a puddle became the perfect picture. thier everyday lives became pieces of art.even the simple picture of that girl doing her laundry on the roof n a random picture snapped had so much insight on what life really was like for them. seriously this movie made me think

3) How do you think the world needs to change?
How important is this

ugh .i dont want to write a novel about this one i have so much to say. when u (miss shen) were telling us about how some people were digging holes and putting used bullets in there to keep the heat focused to cook thier food it sounded almost..fake. growing up in this kinda area its so hard to picture life really really being like that. like we have stoves. i dont even wanna picture my mommy crouching over a hole tryna get a fire started to fill my tummy. im getting off topic. bottom line this is super important. i dont wanna sound like a pageant queen but i wish these people had better lives for themselves. i dont know anything about economy but y dont the developed countries help build things for these other people n give them alot more money n stuff then they already are. thier people who need to feed and support thier families too.

4) What are you willing to do TODAY to be a part
of that change?

i come from a HUGE family and we have even mooore family in africa and my mom likes to get these suitcases and fill them with clothes to send back home. we send some money over every month to so they can support themselves n stuff but im not really sure if thats like changing much. im not really educated on what i can do today cus what i just mentioned is mostly on my parents. honostly i really dont know. how can i help these millions of people with miserable lives being where and who i am right now ? thats a tuffy miss im not gonna lie i really dont know

5) Do you know a good song/rap/poem with
good lyrics about change in the world?
Post a link or lyrics to share it with us.

UGHHH . are u serious ?? im absolutly in LOVE with john mayer !! i coudlnt find a proper link but yu know the song waitin on the world to change dont u ?

6) Pick a non-profit organization that is
important to you.
Why is this important to you?
Do they have a website?

my grade 6 teacher would always tell me these stories about how her mom died of breast cancer and she ran some super long charity run becuase she was so inspired by her moms bravery. im loving the whole pink theme so i guess im a pretty big fan of search for a cure for breast cancer. well get it one day.

7) What ideas do you have for media
arts projects that we could do individually
or as a class to help contribute to these
organizations that are important to us?

ur so cool for asking for our input on this.. i would love anything with taking pictures of ourselves and making them even more stunning then they already are. like the magazine thing, i loved that. so yea using our own pictures is always fun. its kinda stressful trying to take all them kids pics in class tho so.. yeah. yu need to take ur time and look perfect =] but yea anything really meaningful like this project were doing about the brothels and anything that we use our own pictures would be great. have fun reading millions of students inputs miss even tho i know ur obviously gonna go with mine. kk gnite

ps. dont forget to give me perfect on all the extra hard work i did ;)

1. What combination of tools did you use to isolate the fruit in “fruit_combo.jpg” and where in the image did you use which tool?

I isolated the bown in combo with manetic lasso and the free hand lasso and the magic wand.

Which method did you find most effective in this case?

The magentic lasso was the most effective no doubt.

3. Experiment with the following:
After you make a selection in the menu and go to
a) Select > Modify > Expand

it changes the pixel size and it makes the picture bigger or smaller
b) Select > Modify > Contract

the bowl changes sizes with the dpi

c) Select > Feather

it blends the details and makes it look smoother and kind of realistic

What do these do? Post a fourth image indicating that you know what feathering does.

1) Will a 300 dpi image or a 72 dpi image be clearer when printed out at the same size? How come?

any image used with 300 dpi would bemuch clearer compared to the other one because the dpi( dots per inch ) is greater so the details are more defined

2) What would a picture created at 1 dpi look like?

Details would not be as nicely presented as a picture with higher resolution
